PROTECTION FROM SPRAYING WATER. The IPX protection ratings define the moisture protection of electrical or electronic devices. The moisture protection test is defined in different stages. IPX5 certifies protection against spraying water from all sides. As such, battery tools with this certification are designed for daily use, even in rainy conditions.

For this reason, air is directed through the housing to cool STIHL batteries. In addition, the cells in the battery are thermally connected in such a way that heat can be dissipated efficiently. This allows heat to be dissipated quickly and effectively, and excessive temperature differences can be avoided.
MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE INCREASE. Thanks to intelligent electronics, STIHL power tools and batteries communicate with each other. If the device and battery are equipped with the POWER BOOST function, the battery always provides the maximum possible power for the respective application. In order to ensure optimum battery life, the device temporarily adjusts the power if it is used too intensively*.
RELIABLE STARTING IN COLD TEMPERATURES*. Batteries only work at full power in ideal temperatures. If it is too cold, it usually takes time for the battery to warm up. Thanks to the cold start function, the tool is ready to start immediately, even at low temperatures down to -20°C, and offers almost the same output as at ideal temperatures.
